Look at all the Star Wars stuff they sold in Star Traders in that loooong period between SW movies. I gotta think that ride helped put the franchise in the minds of kids who never saw the origional 3 in the theater until SW ep 1 came out in '99. There's alot of money to be made by making a non-classic movie into a Disney attraction.
