I try to bring balance and share my view. The difference is some give up and go away when their constructive critique is barked at. Others I know don't share at all anymore. The MK can be great. Sadly Disney choose not to make it so. I try to post the differences between the parks in the slim hope that it may be read and something will be done. Or those who have never been to DLP when they live in England, or someone who lives in the midwest and has never been to DL wake up and try something different. But it's funny, just like a couple of other posters who have now left, when I praise Epcot or DAK, those praiseful remarks are forgotten about. So Dan, go to WDW Dan and enjoy. Personally I will no longer go. Unless there is a killer financial deal, or we break down to see the new Harry Potter land in IOA, I doubt I will return to WDW for at least 10 years. If I read about a return to form, I may reconsider, or if Disney announce something earth shattering, than maybe. In the meantime I will go to DLP, DL and Asia. And back to my original comments, for West Coasters that have never been to WDW, you must go at least once. Just be prepared that the MK is not Disneyland. Unless anyone asks me a specific question, I will refrain from commenting on the MK. All I can say is I was disappointed with it in 1979, 1982, 2000 and 2006. And each trip it kept getting worse.

I still enjoy the vibe of MK's TL, and a working Peoplemover is a large part of it. And I LIKE Buzz (although I do enjoy the handheld gun in DL better). And dave, you've stated many times that you won't be going back to WDW in the forseeable future. I know you don't hate all parts of it, but the constant negativity just bugs me sometimes. I'm always the first to say that we all have opinions and have the rights to share them, so perhaps I'm being a little mean-spirited here. But maybe, dave, if yous step back a bit, you might see that you really are hitting the "down with MK" theme pretty hard lately, and in my opinion it's getting a little hard to take. Consider that a constructive comment from an online friend, not the big 'ol curmudgeon that I may seem at times.

Now the reality is, I would like one of the exec jobs to put this right, but as the posts do not seem to be advertised, I use the message boards to give feedback (and I do stop in at City Hall too). Now a few nice words about the MK - the Wishes fireworks are cool. Also CoP, Hall of Presidents, the Peoplemover, and Country Bears are great! The novelty and suspense of using a monorail or ferry to get to the park is pretty cool. And also, a character meal at the Liberty Tree Tavern can be great fun. I am also one of the few LPers who actually is entertained by Stitch Encounter. And don't forget to visit my favorite Alien Lounge singer!!! Is that better? ;-) BTW, back to the original question, I think 8 days is a great amount of time for a 1st timer that knows DL!

"YES" to the first part and "YES" and "No" to the second. 1)Florida's ocean water is indeed warmer than all of California's Pacific water. 2)Northern Calif coastal water is way too cold to put in all year without a diving suit--- think low 50's. Now, Southern Calif. is quite inviting, even without a dive suit, especially come summertime.

I've been in the ocean here in September, and it was pretty cold, but definately bearable. I don't think I would willingly get in for most of the year though. It's just too cold.

It's about 5 to 10 degrees colder than say around Santa Monica, but only about 5 or so degrees colder than the water around Sycamore Cove, which is where I always went when going to the beach. I grew up going in cold ocean water. Doesn't bother me a bit.

I have water skied all my life and I can swim everyday if I chose to breeak the ice. I too am used to cold water, as we religiously water ski every april 1st, ice in the coves or not. But I still have an appeciation for warm water.

And there is scuba diving near me in Monterey Bay, if i wanted to do that. Some of the finest in the world. I'm aware that the undersea life is different in tropical waters. Both types of diving are popular. But since I don't go diving, it really isn't that big a draw for me.

I certainly didn't feel like I was about to freeze to death, but I wouldn't have wanted to be in it for any longer than absolutely nessecary.

You get used to it slightly, but only slightly. The only people who seem to stay in the water are the numerous Quebecois, for whom it is the closest beach. They know from cold, and it doesn't seem to bother them.
