I guess I'll just save everyone's good tips for groups for next year. Hopefully we can work something out with them once he finds a new job and gets settled in.

I know the hubby and I will still have a good time on our trip, it will be our 3rd early December visit. But it will be bittersweet to think about how the nieces and nephews were supposed to be with us. Thank god my brother-in-law decided not to tell the kids! At least they don't know they were supposed to go to WDW and now its cancelled. :(

I'll keep my fingers crossed that things will get better. And maybe you guys can try this trip with everyone at a later time.

Kids that age usually like places like Sci-Fi or 50's. Perhaps 1 character meal and the rest CS. The Crystal Place or Chef Mickey's are good overall(price and location).
Go to Deb's site for menus @ allearsnet.com. There are some of the CS that give pretty good portions that can be shared like @ the China Pavillion. When my kids were small they loved getting the fried rice there was so much it actually fed all three of them of course that was years ago maybe not now. Anyway there are several options now for kids meals that usually include the drink which is one of the things that nickle and dime you to death. If you go that route you won't feel like you've wasted money if they leave half of it on their plate. When kids get excited they often tend to think eating is a waste of time when there is fun to be had.;)
The food courts @ the values are pretty good value as well.
Hope this helps we were a family of 5 so I understand where you're coming from have a great time.
