Originally Posted By DVC_dad It's no surprise that Neil Armstrong is a Freemason. Back in that day, male social organizations like Freemasonry, Kiwanis, and so on were the norm. My father, all my uncles, and almost every adult male I knew growing up, were members of some organization like that, with the Lion's share of them being Freemasons. Those groups are still out there, but it seems we are too busy for things that groups like that bring. Things like camaraderie, accountability, mentoring, passing down of ethics and morals, and generally a willingness to “help the other fella.†We’re just too busy.
