Orgoch, on the other hand, LIKES for things to bubble over and create a mess. So, right there you have a disagreement. But does it mean that Orwen is out of line to mention her concerns? Not at all. Does it mean that Orgoch is wrong to create a mess? Probably so. But, even then, I try not to criticize either one of my loving family members. It is, after all, best to simply live and let live. If somebody wants to go around pointing out the faults of a theme park, I say let them. Maybe things will improve as a result. If, on the other hand, someone wants to praise a certain thing about a theme park--that others find bad--I say let them, too, have their day in court. No need for a witch to pick up a splinter in her broom stick over what others have to say...

    >>my biggest pet peeves about walt disney world is not disney itself, but more than likely the people who go there (and stroller drivers!lol)<<

BINGO! My 2nd and most disappointing aspect of the WDW experience.

No we won't. That title goes to dennis-in-ct or Leemac.

    >>I like DCA because nobody else does.<<

I like DCA as well for what it is and for being kept cleaner and better maintained than the MK.

I LOVE WDW. My kids are 26 and 22 and we still act together like we did when they were 10 and 6. People ask us to go on trips with them because we have so much fun.

Yes, I notice little things here and there and I do a lot of "remember when". But I have years and years of wonderful, wonderful memories that no one can ever take away from me no matter what they say.

I like hearing things from LP'ers that keep up more than me. I'll take the good and the bad. Then I'll enjoy it my way.

I cannot believe any Mom would be so insensitive as to anything other than the pure enjoyment their child is having at WDW. And, BTW, Peter Pan is MY favorite ride. Some people just cannot have any fun.

I would completely disagree with you, RoadTrip. But unless we are discussing some actual facet of the WDW experience, we are both right because it's just opinion.

"Just the same, I really don't find that much negativity on these boards towards WDW."

    I don't at all. I really don't see it.

"Now DCA is a whole different story. I don't even go to that section much any more. There are about 3 people posting who like the park (I'm one of them), everyone else trashes it mercilessly."

Call me crazy, but I happen to enjoy DCA a lot. I liked it even more when it first opened and was something differnt before everyone at TDA went nuts and closed eateries and attractions and ripped out a wonderful parade for a 30-year-old one.

But I agree with your point, I don't post on the DCA Board because it is very, very negative. Worse, everyone is debating endlessly about the same old tire topics and not the current and future aspects. It just gets crazy.

My feelings too. I used to think it was only understandable if people who never visited WDW in its first few decades thought any criticism about upkeep to be out of line because they were likely comparing the MK to their local Six Flags type park.

But the more I thought about, the more my opinion changed. Some of WDW's lax
maintenance is so obvious one would have to be medicated or high on Disney Magic to not notice some things.

"I like DCA as well for what it is and for being kept cleaner and better maintained than the MK."

    I do as well.

I am not blind to the areas where WDW had declined. But to me the many additions since I started going there have more than made up for the declines in a few areas. A magnificent park like DAK makes up for a slight reduction in the maintenance level at WDW in my opinion.

When I go to WDW now I know I can see and do far more than I ever could have on my first visit. That to me means a lot.

I had just finished reading a lot of posts I hadn't had time for, doing some catching up. I saw that there was never a positive post from those few folks no matter what the topic was.

I don't really care if they are negative or not I would just rather spend my time reading the posts of folks I feel will try to tell it like it is good or bad. And probably more to the point I was actually just making an observation on human nature. I don't ever want to be the person in the room that always sees only the bad.

My first visit to WDW was on their first b-day so I have a long history with the park. It is an escape from the grim reality I face daily at work.

I like that there is a place like this that I can get answers to questions to help me make informed decissions.

These are only my personal observations and I'm sure there will be those that simply do not see that there is anyone here that is always negative.

The one thing I've noticed as I get older is that I don't sweat the small stuff so much anymore. I love to laugh and have a good time and try not to take myself too seriously. This is a blessed gift that I have been given over the years by the countless folks I have seen in real crisis.

BTW a true Pollyanna isn't someone that is blind to anything bad. A true Pollyanna is someone that when given lemons makes lemonade.;)

Oh Leemac, I thought that joke was self-explanatory. The title is "Pollyanna". dennis-in-ct and I are good personal friends and I always mortify him by calling him 'Pollyanna', and since many of my LP friends have reffered to you as 'Pollyanna' as well.. hence I made the joke.

I've learned through the years that it's really hard to make something new that works, and even harder to make it so that it works for a wide group of people and for a long time. It also takes continuous energy and improvement just to keep it working.

If that thing is something really creative, it becomes even more risky. But the payback on something really creative can be huge if it succeeds -- or zero if it flops. I give great credit to people who are willing to risk the extra-creative challenge.

It's easy to criticize. It's easy to find something wrong with just about anything if you try hard enough.

Some people have a "gift" for finding fault and can do it effortlessly. They even think they're helping by pointing out what's wrong, so we'll all know. And maybe agree with them, I suppose.

Look -- I know it. I see it. But I see past it to the good thing that makes it all worthwhile.

There ought to be a rule that says if you're going to criticize, it has to be accompanied by a "how you would make it better." Not just a "it's wrong and it's so-and-so's fault!"

(Deep breaths....) Sorry....OK.. I'm feeling much better now....

I guess that doesn't apply to me since *everyone* knows what I look like. I even have other people's "reliable sources" following me around, taking my picture when I shop at the Emporiums of the World. How pathetic.

I can't believe that I actually walked by the pavillion without even seeing that attraction. My Loss.
Now getting back to complaining. I really think there is some crediblilty behind complaining about Eisner and the fact that the Disney company is being run with a calculator. I'm still going to enjoy WDW anyway.

    Pease, Love, Disney!
