If there is so much freedom in Cuba, why do all those people risk their lives to come here?

Do not judge a whole people by a few.

I'm assuming the Cubans who have the means to vacation internationally are not the same set as the ones who risk their lives trying to float their way to Florida?

Otherwise, I'm confused as to why they don't all just book a flight to Canada and sneak down from the North. Seems easier and safer.

Me too? Miami is filled with both wealthy, and poor Cubans that risked a lot to get here.

Most likely they are either apparatchiks or athletes.

In America it's certainly up there, but worldwide there are plenty of quagmires out there. Tokyo rush hour can put LA to shame anyday (and no, that's certainly NOT a good thing lol).

But your Revo even at 50 mph max speed could not have been the limiting factor........

the atrocious roads would have been since anything over 40 mph would be too bumpy or perilous. Besides you never knew when a street vendor, blind person, stray dog or child beggar would suddenly appear in the middle of the roadway/blvd/ave/hwy, right?

None of that managed to slow down the insane driver of the mini-bus WorldDisney dragged me onto in Hong Kong! :O

Compared to THAT, Los Angeles is pretty much Kansas driving. :p

Sounds like a real hoot X.

But I seem to remember driving as being fairly civil business in HK during my time there.

As for the US don't underestimate places like Seattle, Boston or the Wash/Baltimore Beltways--- both inner and outer loops. Those places can easily compete with the greater LA area for overall traffic headache.
