With DLP's inversions (and over-the-shoulder restraints) you move around a lot more within the seat and have more to bang into. It's similar to the beating you occasionally get on Rockin' Rollercoaster in WDW (I always seem to hit my neck on the restraints a bunch on that ride), but worse

Maybe that's because there aren't all trains on the track and so each train has more breaks. We only ride it in the morning and we love it. As for WDW's Space Mountain, it's rough and boring. TOT is also one of my all time favourite Disney attractions, but I prefer DLP's version. While WDW's ToT looks better on the outside and has a fantastic setting with all the greenery at the end of Sunset Blvd, I like DLP's mirror effect better. Another thing that is better in Paris, is the single shaft. So the first drop is more surprising. At WDW you hear the "click" when the cabin is fixed in the cage and then you know that you will be dropped shortly. At DLP the door closes after the family vanishes and then the elevator waits for a second and suddenly you are dropped. However I really like the randon drop sequences at WDW.

I suspect that the original plan was forgotten over time, but I'm surprised that they didn't do it as a seasonal upgrade, since they had some relatively substantial things in that area for the first few years they did HalloweenTime. It would have made for a fun temporary overlay, similar to the Rockin' Both Parks campaign on Space and Screamin' Has the attraction ever had a substantial refurbishment? I know they've refurbed individual shafts at various points, but I can't remember if they've ever shut the whole thing down
