Think of how great Haunted Mansion, POTC, the original EPCOT Center dark rides were the first time we went on them. It was so cool to see imagination at work - all fresh, original ideas that nobody else was doing. I think this is the direction the next generation of attractions at WDW need to go. If they can create a compelling, interesting, fun ride the merchandising and souvenir opportunities will follow. I hate seeing the opposite where the attractions are based on the merchandising opportunities.

I would also like to see more origional non-movie attractions at all the parks. You guys on the East coast are getting more of those than we on the West coast. But you also have more parks and more room to expand, which is way I spend my hard earned money to go the extra miles to visit.

My point was that Nightmare is an old property, and it would be silly IMO to do more with it than they're already doing.< NBC is 10 years old and merchandise still sells well...while Monsters Inc is 5 years old yet they are opening rides for that-- yet I would guess the merchandise sales are less for Monsters vs. NBC. While I would love to see more 'original' rides open also...I think the franchising of stock already owned is OK also.
