Now I don't have to go out to get good ramen...I can make it at home.

Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>FerretAfros: Oh, I can eat ramen anytime. Rain, snow, hot, humid, anytime. << For the most part I can, but the weather just made sushi and soba seem like more natural choices. There was one particularly hot day when we visited Nara (I also remember it being especially hot the day I went to Nara ~18 years ago) where all we wanted was to sit in the air conditioning and eat something cold. But other than that, we had plenty of nice hot food! : ) Restaurant Sakura looks good, but it always seemed out of place to me in the *American* Waterfront. It seems like the more generic-theme of Mysterious Island, Port Discovery, or Mermaid Lagoon would have been a more logical choice. Then again, I guess Americans aren't traditionally known for having especially great food

I recall waiting about an hour on maybe my third day in the park. Since I waited so long, I bought two, just in case it was really yummy. I was VERY disappointed. I didn't think it was good at all. I'm surprised it has remained popular to this day.
Originally Posted By FerretAfros I agree with that sentiment about the gyoza bun. It was okay, but nothing special. Luckily we didn't have a long line, and it moved very quickly, so it didn't take us any time at all to get our food. It was a good snack to have to push back a proper meal, but no something I would trek across the park for And your observation about Japanese folks getting in line is pretty funny. I think it's because everybody is so neat and orderly that they feel compelled to follow the crowd, even if they don't know what it's for. Compared to the pushing and shoving that I often see in the US (particularly getting on and off of buses, trains, and planes) I would take that any day!
