LM? It's okay...but nothing really stands out about it.

Look at these attractions based on animated movies and you can kind of see what I mean. These are examples of posters that clearly advertise an attraction, not a movie.

I'm just nitpicking but I wish they would add some ride vehicles with people in them...something that clearly differentiates it from the film. It can be done subtlety (like the Alice poster).

If you look between Flounder and Ariel's tail, you can see the clamshells going by, complete with passengers. It would undoubtedly be easier to see in the full-size poster, of course. It's really not dissimilar to the Alice poster, with the large Alice, smaller secondary characters, and one "car" with passengers.

I thought so, but I checked your profile and your join date is Feb 2010. How were you able to change it without creating a new profile?

Did you notice the riders in the clamshells in the background? Nice detail.

Look again. They're there. Here's a link to larger versions of the posters:

That's fine and all, but it just seems strange that they wouldn't just go for a more modern look; plenty of DL attraction posters looked modern in their time, beyond the 50's (like Captain EO, Indiana Jones, and Remember...Dreams Come True). For whatever reason, it just stands out to me a whole lot more. The fonts, the character designs, the shadowing and details, they all just look a little too modern to be a real old poster, but the look is far too vintage-esque to be trying to be modern.

By no means is it the end of the world, but it's not my favorite poster they've ever come up with.

Maybe that's because it's supposed to be an ad for a ride on a vintage seaside pier, yet a film that is a relatively recent addition to pop culture? I understand your issues with it, but it the artwork doesn't seem that off base to me.

The ones done in the 1950s, early 60s weren't trying to look retro, they were actually contemporary designs at the time. So anything after that is going to be attempting that look, but little modern things sneak in. The font for the Little Mermaid title is based closely on the movie, so that kind of brings it back into the modern era.

But overall, I think these look really terrific. Combined with the ones they did for Screamin' and the Fun Wheel and others, it really adds another cool level of Disney detail and scene setting to DCA.

What I really like about all of them is that, like the classic Disneyland attraction posters, they are more about showing what the ride is meant to feel like, rather than a strictly literal depiction of the ride.

When I first joined it was in January of 2010, I went by something all together different then.

Then when I chose the name CuriousConstance, I created a new profile in February 2010. Not long after that, it wasn't recognizing my password anymore, so rather than email someone to fix it, I just created a new profile with the ER added.

But, I just emailed someone recently from LP and asked them to reset that original profile of CuriousConstance, so I could go back and use that one again.

So it's the old profile I am now able to use again.

By the way, I went back and was reading some of the recommendations from you all about what I should change my name too when I was taking suggestions, and it was cracking me up. If you would have been here, I would have smacked you upside the head Hans.

The Disneyland posters are in the tunnel/walkway as you enter park and go under the train tracks.

The DCA doesn't have a location like this. The Golden Gate Bridge is going ways and it's too far into the park I think to work to hang the posters.

As for the looks of the posters. Remember many attractions have gotten new posters over the years. If you don't like the current one, there maybe another a few years from now.
