Diet Coke goes really well with Stoli Vanilli on weekends.

IIRC, Spirit, the time you and I dined there was your first visit. I'm glad to see you love it as much as I do. :)

So, wanna to the Queen Victoria Room together sometime? If I'm not mistaken, I think you, Xina, and me spent 3 or 4 hours on our 7-course meal, so I bet we could push this 10 course meal to 5 hours EASILY. :)>>

I would love to do this sometime with ya!

I've spent that amount of time in many less (much less) dining locations, taking a meal slowly and talking with friends, family or work colleagues.

So, to spend 3-4 hours having that kind of culinary experience is an E-Ticket all the way in my Spirited opinion!

<<Ditto, but dressing up to go to V&As while you're in super casual vacation mode is a nice treat. :)>>

I agree. I am not big on having to dress up, but to do so for a nice meal isn't exactly a hardship.

Now ... is this where I start bitching about the piggies who show up at California Grill, Narcoosee's or Jiko wearing sandals and Grumpy tees? :)

    Don't you just hate that!!!

<<I was doing really mediocre work under the thumb of others whose design philosophy I detested ("the audience is stupid!" "they wont know any better!" "I'm fighting the director because she thinks she knows better then me and I'll prove her wrong! My ego is the most important thing in the room! Rar!")

I dropped out of my grad design program. You'd be amazed at how vehemently institutionalized design programs dislike creativity and individualism.

Nor rules. ("Hi, i have a union contract to work for you.. you can't make me work more then the specified number of hours.. and you can't make me teach your class for free for you" "Like hell I can't! Do you want this degree or not?!?")>>

I'm truly sorry to hear that, Merfie.

But I am not surprised. That's the entertainment industry and academia.

It is what it is ... but you never know ... all it takes is meeting the right person ... life is all about chance. ... Sadly, more than talent.

<<So yeah.. I don't take photos anymore. Don't goto the parks much anymore either. >>

As an APer at three resorts, it seems like a waste!

I'm amazed that the AP at DLP that cost me 129 Euros five years ago, cost the same last fall.

Yet the PAP for DLR that cost $199 not that many years ago now costs $439. And I don't even know off-hand how much a WDW AP has gone up in the last 8-9 years.

The DVC units are, by and large, very, very nice (although I'd argue not as nice as similar Mariott, Hyatt and Hilton properties) ... but Disney tends to let them fall into disrepair before rehabbing.

I know I shouldn't have eaten at BK (so ann, I know your question came from a good place) I was cold (sub zero temps) and starving ( my blood sugar was down) and had limited quick options - BK, $7 cold and unappealing sandwich, or heat lamp cafeteria options with more than the 1498 calorie meal I opted for). I still had a 90 min drive in poor icy fog conditions and 3 hours of work to do when - got home.

I opted for the lesser evil. The next day was porridge, a chicken salad and 4 sushi, herbal tea, water and then 1 turkey fajita with salad and fruit.

After losing 70 lbs since september I have bad meal a week to keep my sanity. I know I won't lose it as fast. But as - know this will be a couple of years project, it's a start.

What is really worrying is I was already skinnier than some WDW visitors before I started!

But thanks for the prompt ann, it does help.

And yes, diet drinks taste like plastic, I miss chocolate and desserts and hate this condition. For all of you with weight problems, please do not ignore it, or you might end up like me and getting down at the prospect of the holidays etc.

However, V&A chefs are great to working with special diets. The rest of Disney used to be too, but the only other place is Napa Rose these days, and thankfully - can still take my kids who love a 3 hour cullinary adventure there. My 7 year old would rather have quail and parma ham than chicken nuggets or friesm :eck, even BK or McD's can be an hour long experience for us.

Wow, I wish I had that much will power. Thin people will never appreciate how hard it is for some people to control their weight. Congrats

70 down, 100 more to go!!! But I have now plateaued. I am thinking I will live with the plateau and then realy go for it in spring/summer when salads are more pallettable (in 0 degree temps, it's not so easy).

Take a break from losing, your body needs time to adjust. Just so long as you don't gain back any, which is really hard in winter. Stay strong.
