Not only with DVC units, but with other standard hotel/motel units as well. We will probably be having a similar debate when the Flamingo Crossing area finally gets underway. Yes DVC is separate from the Parks, but they are controlled by the same corporation. That's why some people are angry. They feel that to much attention is being paid on DVC expansion versus Park expansion. Rightly or wrongly this comes about because the DVC's are being built on WDW property. When you combine that with the diminishing quality in several areas of WDW, you suddenly have an issue in some peoples eyes.>> Although I am enjoying the DVCers vs. fanboi sparring, that wasn't the point of the thread. And Pierce's point above illustrates it well. WDW is being overdeveloped. Period. DVC is a huge factor. But so are standard hotel rooms. As well as yet another attempt (people really should go ride thru celebration and see how 'great' it looks 16 years after creation) at a housing community in Golden Oak. ... And then there's the DoA Flamingo Crossing project. All quick real estate grabs while you have a water park rotting away (albeit, not for much longer) ... you have a dead night entertainment zone ... you have stale parks that are falling apart with vast dead zones due to years of cutting capacity in attractions, dining and retail, all while raising prices. You DVCers need to calm down. No one is blaming DVC for WDW's issues. But the reliance on it as a business model has certainly been a part of the Walmarting of WDW. That's just reality.

It ain't about class warfare (whoever stupidly brought that up). It's about SHODDY THEME PARK PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT.>> Absolutely, Leo. But that's just the problem, TDO believes it is running a timeshare/real estate/hotel company, not a theme park/resort/entertainment complex ... it really comes down to that. It's terrible because the parks are being viewed as something beyond secondary when it comes to running WDW. And despite the addition of DVC in California and, soon, Hawaii ... none of the resorts are run like WDW is. And it just seems to be getting worse each year.

Except for some typical bright spots in EPCOT and DAK, it is worse than ever. Vinyl, pins, plush, homogenized Disney Parks crap, many resorts no longer having unique lines. Much worse. <<Food>> You are kidding here right? <<Maintenance.>> Yes. Improving somewhat ... but when buildings are rotting away they don't have much choice but to work on them ... right? <<It's not much, but there has been a upsurge since at least 2009, I would say. >> I wouldn't. Not overall ... some small steps forward, but more big steps back.

My little survey was of course made up. ;-) Of course it was-( but some similar items wereon survey responses) - but I would like to dig out some of the survey items from the last 5 years or more... I know most items were geared towards perks and facilities, but some were more general about WDW.
