I don't know the details on the Dumbo wait but if you've ever had a 3 year old and a 6 year old clawing at you while waiting 45 minutes to an hour in an exceedingly slow moving line you can appreciate ANY effort to try and make that more enjoyable. Frankly, when I'm lined up there are times when I consider it a success if we get on the ride and nobody has died.

Call it whatever you want, but there will always be a waiting area for Dumbo, no matter how many of them you have sitting next to each other. Their grand vision of just playing games in a free flow area, followed by boarding the attraction whenever you feel like it just makes me laugh. They might open the area to look like that, but they will have to change it pretty quickly. Dumbo creates a wait, no matter where it is. They will need to accomodate that waiting area, no matter how many interactive things they have peppered around in front of it.

As for it being geared to the little princesses -- it's MK and that has always been a little kids park. I've seen many little princes waiting in line to meet the princesses. We got TT and MS at Epcot, ToT and RNR at DHS during their upgrades so now it's the kids turn. Don't forget that we are also getting the upgraded ST at DHS which doesn't exactly appeal to little girls and I know that that is just one ride not a whole land but the point is that you can't please everybody. If it is done well it should provide something for everyone and it seems that is will.

I think the big carrot here is the Mermaid attraction and you can't tell me that it won't be highly anticipated many age groups. The B & B restaurant will also be highly regarded by many. Was the B & B Broadway show intende for little kids?

The Magic Kingdom, and Disneyland before it, were not "little kids" parks. They were designed to appeal to all ages, and in fact, most of what was built for the first 30 years did appeal to all ages. Rides like Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Thunder Mountain, Mission to Mars, Hall of the Presidents, and If You Had Wings certainly didn't only appeal to "little kids". Branding the Magic Kingdom as the "kids" park is a relatively new thing in Disney history - and really only started to happen in the 1990s. Disney seems to have decided that their Disneyland-style parks are now all geared towards Fantasy - hence the characterization of most of the themed lands. But that wasn't always the case, and hopefully, won't be in the future.

Originally Posted By Bob Paris ">>it's MK and that has always been a little kids park.>> Not even close." Thank you. That comment almost turned my stomach. Sounds like somebody who has discovered "Disney Parks" in the last couple of years. Indeed, I think that person would not even understand why most of us find the corporate buzz term "Disney Parks" so objectionable.

I think the Little Mermaid Attraction will be a wonderful addition to the park. I also have to wonder about the repeat visit thing. Many of you are excited but I have to wonder once you have dont the meet and greet stuff if it something you will want to repeat visit after visit or mutliple times in a single visit. Yesterday we were out at the MK and EPCOT. We rode Splash, Haunted Mansion, HOP and Country Bears at the MK (which was not busy at all - 20 mins posted at Splash and really a 10 min wait). We also did Soarin, Spaceship Earth, Energy and Test Track at EPCOT. One of the comments from the family a couple of different times was no matter how much you ride some of those attractions they are still wonderful. I just dont see how the new area (with the exception of Little Mermaid) will have that sort of reaction unless you have children.
