I as a little disappointed at the pacing, since it really just hopped from one gag to the next without any downtime in between. It reminded me of the "Have A Laugh" series they've been showing on Disney Channel, where they take old 7-8 minute shorts and compress them into 4-5 minute ones. I would have preferred they slow it down a little bit, but I also understand that they're trying to fit it into the interstitial blocks between shows (it's been shown several times this morning too) so I understand why they did it that way. I was also happy to see that they're giving Mickey an actual personality. As a result of becoming a corporate symbol, Mickey has become increasingly bland since the mid-30's. Although he wasn't doing anything particularly scandalous for a cartoon character, it was great to see him have real reactions and even take a little revenge. He's hardly edgy, but he does finally have a real-ish personality Overall though, I just couldn't get past the animation style. I just don't find it visually appealing at all, and it distracted me from the short itself. I realize that the characters and animation methods need to continue to evolve as time goes on, but this specific approach feels like a misstep to me.

I really like this style of animation and the character designs. Doesn't mean this is how they'll always be, but it's a nice little skew off the main, corporate run way.

He was driving a moped, and I'm pretty sure that the internal combustion engine hadn't been invented yet in Cinderella (but just going out on a limb there). It seems like recently Disney has been pushing that their fairy tales are 'real' parts of various cultures, because that's where they originated, but I really don't think they're fooling anybody; there's almost nothing (other than some architecture) in the Cinderella movie to indicate that they're French or that it's in any way authentic. I have no problem with cross-branding when done well, but this was nowhere near well done. That said, I like that they were able to convey the story to an English-speaking audience, while having the dialogue completely in (simple) French. It means that they were able to do the visuals well enough that we knew what was going on, regardless. Not always the easiest to do, but it worked here.

It was just too over the top and the way Goofy was scratching himself, at the end, was just nasty. Overall a good development, MouseBear
