If you were ever able to see the model of EPCOT in the Carousel of Progress, the Magic Kingdom was off in the distance. While the current Epcot is a far cry from what was initially conceived, I don't see any need to muddy the concept with "thrill rides".

DAK has some high dollar attractions, they're just not AA rides. Regardless, Disney did build some elaborate AA attractions after SSE, namely Phantom Manor and PotC at DLP. As for as a brand new, original attraction, that would be Sindbad's Storybook Voyage, with well over 100 AA figures.

There may not be hundreds of AA's but the ones that are there are placed in a very effective way that you don't really notice that there are so few of them. It might be nice to have a few more, but the ones that they have are more than effective at getting the story across in a very detailed environment. Though the giant toaster/time machine part does leave something to be desired. And the safari is way more impressive than any AA attraction has ever been for me. Start up costs were probably lower than an AA-based ride, but the care that went into creating the various environments is outstanding. And once you factor in the daily maintenence (including the care for the animals), there's no comparison in cost between the safari and even the most elaborate AA ride.

I don't think the TDS attraction is an exact copy of it, but the similarity cannot be denied. http://sebar.com/tpb3dwiki/ima...tion.jpg
