Verizon has a lot of money and I think where they're such big players in telephone, cable television, and DSL internet they'd fit nicely with the advances in communications theme of SSE. I think that is a good sign in terms of keeping SSE the way it is, especially looking back at the past. GM wanted test track instead of WoM partly because they didn't want to foot the bill to something that was devoted to AUTOMOBILES, which WoM wasn't. Verizon is a communications company and the entire ride of SSE is dedicated to communications - you may say GM is a vehicle/means of transportation producing company and WoM was dedicated to illustrating advances in means of transportation but the thing is WoM went beyond just automobiles in the modern era. GM doesn't produce airplanes, boats etc. and automotives are only a portion of the modes of transportion being utilized today (and being displayed at the old WoM) whereas Verizon covers television, telephone, and internet and thus a very very large chunk of modern communication methods. The closer a company matches the ride the better it is in terms of the ride remaining as is without being redisgned into some whacky adventures through the information superhighway on "Fiber-optic cables" doing loop-de-loops and corkscrews in the belly of the geodesic sphere.

Just like the end of an AT&T workday. Heh, heh, the end of SSE is just like an AT&T layoff. A great ride, then a cast off into a dark, featureless landscape.
