    Uh huh.

"where is Padme? is she safe? is she alright?"

Yeah, great stuff there. Totally what you'd expect the first words of DARTH VADER to be.

    "no!!!!!!!"

    Cheesy, horrible, crappy...pick a perjorative.

"Anakin, you're breaking my heart. You're going down a path I can not follow"

    Can I puke now?

Oh, and if Mace wasn't such a slow idiot, bantering with Anakin for 10 minutes over whether it was "the Jedi way" to kill Palpatine, he could have just killed him and the galaxy would have been safe. End of story.

    "UNLIMITED...POWER!!!! Muhahahahaha."

Yup, Lucas even killed the Emperors coolness too. Nice work, George.

The premise of the movie was great, the excecution was just HORRIBLE...

Sorry, I'm a fan of "good movies", but this wasn't one of them.

    Thanks again!

    1. Star Tours II is still only a rumor. The Anthony Daniels quote is very encouraging, because if true, it would mean they've already progressed far enough to have re-written the attraction and begun production. However, the Anthony Daniels quote could be made up by whomever reported it. Has there been confirmation?

    2. If it is more than just a fan rumor and design and production is secretly already underway, the specs listed at the beginning of this thread involve major engineering, construction, installation, etc. (Omnimax domes, new AAs etc.).

    3. I wouldn't expect this to open before late 2009 or 2010.

Watch the original trilogy and you can tell SW is in the 70's, Jedi an 80's film but Empire just has a timeless feel to it. Special Effects aside, when you see the rest of the movie it doesn't feel like it was made at any specific time period.

It would be sweet if they did something like soarin' where youa re not in a bus, but in a 4 seater X-Wing facing the Omnimax dome a la Back To The Future.

True, Alec Guinness hated the Star Wars movies. "I just couldn't go on speaking those bloody awful, banal lines. I'd had enough of the mumbo jumbo,"

Don't forget "Noooo it can't be! Your not my father!!"

    On topic,
The new Star Tours is going to ROCK!

Good examples of cheesy dialogue from the first movies. My feeling is that Lucas had 22 years from the first 'Star Wars' movie in 1977 to 'The Phamtom Menace.'

He improved on the special effects in that time -- why not his directorial skills?

Or better yet, why not let another director direct?

You know why? Because he thinks he's a good director.

That isn't done very often in the movie business -- and for good reason.

Sheesh, he's nothing compared to his father, Anakin! I hated the way he was portrayed. Talk about angsty teen, and annoying bratty kid. I agree about Lucas directing...it's not been a good thing. He needs to let others do that. Empire Strikes Back was the best of the films because he didn't direct. The dialogue he uses is sometimes cringe inducing...especially in the "prequel" films!
