I don't think overcrowding is a problem that is specifically related to APs. Furthermore, while APs are a source of irritation for many, they do provide Disney with a built in audience of loyal customers that seems to ride the tide through good times and bad. Considering that, and other likely unknown benefits to the company, I wouldn't anticipate that Disney would ever eliminate annual passes altogether. Another thing to consider is that DLR does not exist in a bubble. As long as competitors offer APs so will Disney.

People that wanted to come might come more often (since it unlimited for the year and they spent all that money on their passes) and would probably spend more time when they did come. Then your part wouldn't be as crowded, because all of those people that only wanted to come for two or three days might change their minds and not come.

Makes as much sense as your suggestion...

The regular day guests can stay til 6 or 7 on the Halloween Party days. The "Premium Holiday Ticket" in the link describes a full-day ticket with limited guests, thereby precluding multi-day parkhopper holders from doing any hopping that day, at DLR.

And as far as the 10-year deal - it says once per year for 10 years. Pretty sure they'd expire yearly. You're getting a discount cuz Disney wants you to come every year, or forfeit your chance!

I don't know. I'm just thinking it's silly to think getting rid of APs would fix the "problem"... So I'm being silly, too, just the opposite way.

I know! Fairs are totally ridiculous! It was 7.50 per ride that my kids wanted to ride together at the fair. For kids tiny, stupid rides!

Hmmm, let's see, 900,000 people, each paying around $300 a pop, adds up to $270 MILLION bucks. A year. Nope, I don't see Disney eliminating the AP program any time soon.

If you think that's bad what about the coaster at the New York, New York Hotel in Vegas. $14.00 for ONE ride!

Yep, especially considering the ridiculous investment that they are making in Anaheim right now. If fans want an E ticket at DL, a phase 2 for DCA, and a third theme park they better pray that Disney continues to find ways to increase revenue in Anaheim because none of that is going to happen if Disney can't justify the expense and doesn't have the revenue stream to finance it.

I know what you mean, because I think of that, too. It's just I've never really heard about a lot of problems with the rides. Unless they somehow cover up the deaths or something! It's a conspiracy!

Let's say that the average pass holder goes to the parks 12 times a year. That equals 25.22 per visit. That low of a price causes "dangerous levels attendance at Disneyland, the infrastructure is just not up to it."
The AP program is a heroin monkey on Disneyland's back. Can't live with it can't live without it.

OK don't get rid of the AP just charge the same as Tokyo Disney Resort
75000yen or $893.92 per year. Get rid of the summer $99 three day tickets, the 2fer. Lower the day pass to around $50 and every one will benefit. The system that is now in place rewards the cheap so-cal visitor and bilks the free spending out of town visitor. The attendance would balance out and Disney would make just as much money as before.

We took the kids to the fair a few weeks ago, and my two little Curiousers were in line together to get on a ride. It was like a boat, so when it was there turn to get in, the ride operator held his arms out to my son so he could lift him into the boat. My son froze, his eyes got as big as saucers, and he said "MOMMY." as he slowly started backing up, lol.
    I don't blame him they guy was C R E E P Y!

Because you know I'd be the one to do it for my family.
