    >>This is incredibly big news for us here at the HoJo. Keep in mind that absolutely no other hotel in Anaheim or Garden Grove has anything remotely close to this except for the themed pools at some of the Disneyland Resort hotels. This new facility has something for adults, kids and toddlers so the entire family can play together. Adding yet another feature to our arsenal of family-oriented facilities and amenities. Please remember that THERE IS NO POOL at Castaway Cove other than the toddler’s pool. The pool was filled in and is now flat decking which supports the water features and the pirate ship. With our price point in the lower half of the mid-priced hotels and our outstanding customer responses and awards on TripAdvisor.com, this added facility will certainly sway any undecided clients in our direction. If the clients have kids and they are going to Disneyland, the HoJo is an easy choice!

Below are features of our two water facilities. Please update all listings for the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel.

    “Castaway Cove†area:

30-foot Pirate Ship with two slides
    Cargo-net climb

300-Gallon Drench Bucket (dumps every seven minutes after the warning bell rings!)

    Water Curtain & Water Umbrellas

Water Canons, two on the ship’s deck and two on the ground

Hot tub with 15-person capacity featuring additional back and foot jets
“Speedy’s Sprayground†toddler’s pool and fountain play area

    Two outdoor showers

    Restroom facilities

Operating hours: Castaway Cove area is open daily from 9AM until midnight.

There is an attendant on duty while the ship is open. The ship-deck and slides will close at 7PM. Quiet time begins at 10PM when all other Castaway Cove water features will be shut off. Speedy’s Sprayground and the hot tub will remain open until the closing time of midnight.

    The “Garden Pool†area:

Newly refurbished and expanded decking, adding more square footage for sun bathing

The deep end was raised to five feet to provide more usable space in the pool. Keep in mind our pool and deck space is double the size of the average pool in The Anaheim Resort and it is not located on a roof or in a parking lot!

    Two outdoor showers

Operating hours: The Garden Pool is open daily from 9AM until 10PM.

    Cheers,
    Willie

Those extra blocks were torture last time I was there. Second, we'll be with a five year old on his first visit, and we wanted nap time to be as close as possible.

The foot problem was fixed by several excellent doctors, but we still have the 5 year old. Plus his dad thinks "staying across from the enterance is the coolest thing!" Otherwise I'd be changing my reservations today!

(Please excuse my slowless/stupidity... had oral surgery yesterday and may still be under the "effects"!)

I don't know what rate you have now, but what happened for me is.... Last month when I booked HoJo I started with a rate at just over $140/night..due to budge issues had to cancel....on a whim found a lower rate of $118.15/night (it's a 3 or more nights special so you have to stay at least 3 nights) at the HoJo website, rebooked at that rate online. I then emailed HoJo Anaheim directly, just to be sure that was the "bestest" rate I could get, I mentioned I have an Ent Card, and HoJo replied back with a $74/night rate...

SO depending on what you're starting at...you could get a lower rate online if you don't have the Ent Card.

It's worth it to pay the $35 for the book and card even if you just use it once, and we've been able to use it twice now....so I'm all for that darn little book! :)

They would like to invite everyone to check out the new "watery playground" Castaway Cove! They are thinking of doing this noon-1pm on Friday July 18. They would provide Champagne or something like that :)

So, our question is, would you attend? I know some folks may not want to drag themselves away from the parks, but others might enjoy the break. So let us know if you would come.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions and I'll pass them along!
