At least Disney looks like they arent trying to hide it anymore either. The old theme was a complete and utter failure and I think they are trying their best to keep trying to still have the park be about California on paper at least while basically have the park itself be a hodge podge of anything they want these days. They keep the theme, while basically ignorning it at the same time. The 'new' name and logo really conveys that now.

I'd bet that a lot of people that watch TV don't even realize there is a second park in Anaheim. This is especially true since in recent years Disney has avoided all mention of California Adventure in advertising, and using "At the Disneyland Resort" when referring to things in DCA. So, unless they say "California Adventure at Disneyland Resort," it's actually easier to say "Disney California Adventure."

Like the product(DAK aside)was now so generic(Hannah Montana and all that tween crap)that they had to remind you in the title that it was still "Disney".

Back then though people had attention spans longer than 10 seconds . Of course in a few years time dont be too shocked when we see 'Disney's EPCOT' in a new advertisment.

At least I guess you can say that in this case they want a way to show the Expedia or Travelocity user which properties are Disney owned when they're looking up Orlando or Anaheim. But it sure does sound unwieldy.
Originally Posted By DlandDug >>Plus there's this whole new stupid thing where everything has to have "Disney's" in front of it.<< There are at least two valid reasons to do this. Legally, tacking "Disney" or "Disney's" onto something makes it unique for purposes of registration. A lot of Disney product could not be registered without it. Hence, Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. (Actually, the lawyers would continue to argue that others couldn't register the Disney-less titles, but why borrow the aggravation?) Second, the Disney name is among the more recognizable brand names in the world (up there with Coca Cola and Kodak). In fact, Disney runs far ahead of any other Hollywood Studio. So it makes sense from a marketing position to add built-in name recognition for a new project. EPCOT and the Magic Kingdom are already well established. A film called "Oceans," on the other hand, will get bigger bang for the promotional buck as "DISNEY'S Oceans!"
