    Actually, that's not true. As a businessman, Bush was both a failure AND a crook.

    Bush's failed oil speculation deals with his company, Arbusto, cost investors millions and millions of dollars, even though Bush always sold these investments in new oil fields as guaranteed finds. Bush never got one drop of oil from any field he speculated.

    Then there's his stock sale in Harken (the company which bought his oil company), one week before the company posted $23 million in losses. Bush made off with a 200% profit on the sale, even though the stock price subsequently lost over 60% of its value in the following six months.

    There was plenty of evidence to prove that Bush knew about the $23 million loss before he sold his stock, but he was never charged or prosecuted for insider trading.
