Yes, it's all opinion. But anyone who listens to that young lady's voice and can't appreciate the incredible control and range that she displays simply doesn't have the musical experience and knowledge to make an informed decision. You might still not like the song, but there ain't nothing breathy about her performance!

There, I did it - I took it personal! Or maybe you did by saying that I was wrong about this. I don't mind others having opinions that differ from mine. But I DO mind when someone says that I'm wrong just because I don't agree with him.

Destiny's lyrics, IMO, are forgettable. I agree with the AI style. It annoys me with the parade/fireworks/celebrations songs Disney has had lately, too. And if her vocal performance is what you admire, that means the rest of us shouldn't even try. This is not a song I can spontaneously start singing at home, and then have to queue up the iTunes.

I don't think I took it personally. Hope you didn't, either. I was being facetious saying you're wrong about it, which is why I said it's all opinion.

(Remember when the animated movie soundtracks would always have one song performed by a pop or soul singer? Sounds like that to me.)

I can't disagree, but the meaning is there, and that's what counts to me.

Wasn't on purpose, believe me. I'd love to meet ya. This was just a wretched summer all around until I went west recently.

Although I do try and avoid WDW over the summer if possible ... but there are always exceptions!

As for WoL, sure, I'd buy that too if available. But I'd be more interested in Horizons, World of Motion, and the original Journey Into Imagination. I'd also be interested in the original Universe of Energy as well as any background music from the 80s-90s in the park. I'm a hardcore EPCOT Center enthusiast from the early years and really miss many of the great attractions from that era, so getting the music from that period would be "heaven" to my ears!

So, an emphatic "YES" to Leemac's question!!!!

That is exactly the same boat I'm in.

Oh,. but I do still have "Baroque Hoedown" on my ipod and don't skip that track if it comes on while I'm on Shuffle. :)

I reminds me of the old 'Horizon' theme, sung as a duet...

"Have you ever dreamed the dreams of the children?

Just imagine the magic, their minds can see. (if we can dream it).

Horizons, all shining and new, (shining and new). Horizons, where dreams do come true (they do come true).

And it will be, a future filled with care."

In the queue, waiting to get on 'Horizons', it was a nifty little tune -- but truly, when you pull it out of there, and listen to it, I can listen and think 'oh yeah...Horizons' -- but it's not great.

And the vocals are pretty pitchy.

Long story short - can't comment!

I'm trying to understand whether there is truly a market for this type of product. The parks just aren't interested in developing OCR or theme park music CDs any more - hence why World of Color won't be released. My gut tells me that a limited edition product like that released by Intrada for soundtracks could be popular but I suspect the price point might need to be higher than most would be willing to pay.

My scenario isn't for the BGM to be available. All of WoL's BGM was new-agey stuff that is available elsewhere.

I'm talking more about attraction scores and/or complete audio tracks for attractions including cast dialogue (although the latter throws up a million more clearance issues).

How many copies of the Fantasmic! soundtrack have they sold over the years? I personally have 3 different copies of it (one from the DL F! album, one of the WDW F! album, and one from the 50th compilation). While I doubt others have as many copies of it, I know I'm not the only person to own it. While it might have a little startup cost to create a cover and booklet and all that, it will be able to sit on the shelf for years to come with no changes made to it. How many other pieces of merchandise can do that?

My only thought for why it might make sense is if they really were serious about changing the show on a regular basis. In this case, the music would have to change, rendering the soundtracks obsolete. While they could have a little sticker on it that says "As heard in Summer 2010!" like what was on the F! cases for a while (even though that music never changed), it still might be a little weird. Honestly, my only hope for the awful transitions and irrelevant segments to get fixed is that they haven't released a recording of it. Hopefully they can cut down the talking, since it kills the momentum (I'm looking at you, Buzz and Woody, Heimlich, and Dory and Marlin), and figure out a way to tighten up the first 1/3 of the show. If they did that, and realeased it on a CD, I'd be very happy.

    I understand completely.

The price is always the problem with a product that has a high production cost, but a very limited audience. I know the market is out there, but again you run into cost restrictions just trying to market to the targeted audience. I would bet that's why Disney has avoided it.

I wouldn't be very interested in WOL, but I may be for others in the series. I'd probably end up having to get them on the secondary market anyway so price is less relevant for me!!!

It's the voice of Bluegrass singing Disney songs. It's pretty good.
