I agree. I don't think it's the same as NMBC but it's still awesome great and the dueling piano is beautiful.

You guys spoke of "Tears to Shed" earlier and I kind of disagree with your opinions. I do think that the spider/maggot section is subpar, but listening to Helena Bohnam Carter sing her part is amazing. I still get chills when I hear it. That's saying nothing of Elfman really, just saying I think her voice is nice.

OK. Every character has a very distinct profile, to an almost absurd degree. So when they show the flashback of the corpse bride being killed, you see the profile of the man killing her. And it is so obviously the profile of the creepy guy we meet with the parents...I'm just at a loss. When we reach the ending, they acted like it was some big reveal, some big "gasp" moment. But then why show the murderer earlier?

The film is gorgeous. And the figures themselves are amazingly intricate, so much so that NBC looks almost claymation next to it. But it's just style over substance. The whole film could have been a short and still managed the same story. CB seems overly-padded, with unnecessary scenes (which are unnecessarily long) and unwanted songs that serve no purpose. I don't mean to harp or be rude, but I expected so much more.

And by the way, I still think Tim Burton's best work was Ed Wood and Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

The Corpse Bride starts out slow and dull and the songs are pretty forgettable, but the ending pays off well IMO and made me *love* the film. I just like the characters so much.

NBC and CB are distinctly different films and should be kept that way.
