And I look at the state of the parks as reported, think of my last trip, and say - hey, I can go on several vacations in Europe still for that, or for just a little more, I can go to Japan. So I am not going to take them up on their offer.

Now if they offered qualtiy service again, cleaned the place up, maintained their attractions and offer the entertainment they used to, and upped their rack rate by 20%, then I would be scrimping and saving to go.

Well then, if they did all that, they wouldn't still need the discounts, would they? : )

The top-level AP went from $289 to $349.

I'm impressed that Universal didn't raise the price of the second-level AP. Of course Universal added the Harry Potter area within the past year, so I can understand the other price increases much more than I understand the price increases for WDW who in the last year has added...uhh...new toilet seats?

I get the time to visit with my partner over a good meal, and visit with cast members who like to have a positive experience too.

I can't compare UNI/IOA as I've never been at Christmas before but, other than the Grinchmas show I didn't see much to excite me. So basically, the cheapest park is the one that completely outdid the big boys.

Basically, I'm saying that as long as WDW is not offering the Christmas trip that I have come to expect, I may be spending more of my money at Seaworld and UNI/IOA.
