Just got back from our big Disneyland trip. Four days, which, for us, is big.

I went with DS(8), SIL and BIL to the Star Wars exhibit on a Friday. It was packed. I read somewhere that the museum is less crowded after 2:00 because all the school groups have left. If you can't do that, then first thing in the morning may be the best thing - that's what we did, and the first hour was crowded but not unbearable.

Enjoy your trip, and the Star Wars exhibit.

Day trips have been booked to Universal, San Diego Zoo, Knotts, and some sort of Hollywood tour. Some dining arrangements have been made at BB, HOB, and Medieval Dining. We may also rent a car for a day and head to a beach or the Queen Mary or something. That will still give us 9 or 10 days in DL/DCA! We will be celebrating a DD birthday while there. I have two surprise events planned that the 'kids' don't know about (can't tell you now in case they read this).

This will be a great trip. It will be the last one before some of the kids head off to university. The fun and enjoyment of planning and detailing the trip, as well as the waiting to go .... is getting unbearable.

When she was little she would race to bed knowing that Tink would come. It made "bed-time" soooo easy! Now, of course she knows who Tink is but you would never hear her admit it. She still expects some Disney "plushie" each year to sleep with for the trip, which arrives "mysteriously" while we are gone. Then each morning she finds some type of jewelry or pin, etc. She loves it!

I don't care how old they get --- they always love the "Tink Fairy". Wouldn't plan a trip without bringing Tink along for the magic!

Mollysmom -- I bet you can't wait after all this planning!! Can't believe you are getting this close. Just be sure to stock up on some Airborne and start handing it out before the trip so everyone stays healthy!!

I can't wait...next friday we can do our double digit dance. DD was practicing her moves last night as a matter of fact.

Don't you just love finding Tink treats for your DD? I get such a kick out of my DD flying out of bed in the morning to check out her treat. She knows I'm Tink, of course, but she would NEVER say it out loud. It's one of the things that I really look foreward to. DD saw the little gossamer bags that I bought for her treats, and said..."mom, those are so pretty, don't forget the glitter." We just grinned at each other. Almost makes me cry.

The symptoms are the same as our last trip. Vicious headaches, nausea, and uncontrollable thirst. I will SCREAM if I get sick before our trip again this June.

Yes, I do love shopping for Tink presents. Although, I do it differently now that she is older. I buy a plushie for the first night, which I hide and another little treat. By the time we get back from the park that night her "plushie" has arrived just in time for her to sleep with it that night. The first little trinket will be there the next morning.

Now for the remainder of the nights --- I just wait to see what catches her eye in the parks. A pair of earrings here, maybe a pin there --- anything she fancies --- and magically Tink brings it by the next morning.

It makes the park so much more fun watching for little goodies to surprise her with! As if it wasn't already fun enough!

Aw, I wanna see the dance! *pouts* I'll do my own version for you here at home -- warning, it may not be pretty -- I DO have two left feet!

Being the neurotic planner that I am, I've already purchased DD's Tink treats. She is the Tinkerbell freak of the world, so all her gifts are Tink related...pretty easy for me, actually. At 12, I hope she doesn't outgrow it any time soon...her whole room is "Tinked" out, and all her christmas and birthday gifts are Tink related.

It sounds like your daughter is a bit different than mine...if DD sees something at the park that she lusts for, there is no way I could snag it and surprise her with it later. She becomes an instant leech on me, and will hound me until I give in, even resorting to giving me that "little precious angel" eye-batting bit. You know the look...pouting lower lip and all. She can always make me laugh when she does that, and she knows that if she makes me laugh, she'll get whatever it is she wants so badly. Thankfully, her tastes are quite simple, and I can get off pretty cheaply. As long as I'm easy, and she is cheap, we'll be fine this trip!

I would love for you to join us in our dance next friday! DD and I were perfecting our moves last night for DH...he suggested a bit more "hip action" (no more "Dancing With The Stars" for him), but thought we were pretty entertaining. Our only issue at this time, is deciding which background music to use. I tend to lean more towards the Disney Classic tunes, but DD likes her beat more modern...like "High School Musical" stuff. Perhaps we'll need to do a montage of all different styles of Disney tunes.

gottaluvdavillains...my DH agrees with your boys...he says that Tink IS hot. He had a little bit TOO much fun helping me decorate DD's room with Tink...I was starting to worry about him. I reminded him that Tink is a bit of a spoiled brat, but he said that he could live with that. 48 years old...the man needs some serious help.

Puppy dog eyes don't work on me, as I taught it to her, but they always work on Daddy! LOL She's pretty good about the "treats". She is a smart shopper -- she goes the whole trip and through all the stores, and does her shopping on the last day. Since she's older, its easy for mom to slip off for a few minutes, etc. to pick up those "treats" here and there that I see her take note of! Now, realize that "last day" shopping could be a scam too knowing that if enough interest in an item is shown Tink will bring it --- naw, she wouldn't be that sneaky --- would she? hehehe

My DD's puppy dog look works every time...I know she's playing me, and she knows she's playing me, but she does it every time and it always cracks me up.

I never taught her that look, so I don't know where she got it from. When I was a kid, all you had to do was go up to my dad and say, "daddy", and he'd pull out his wallet and ask if you wanted cash or Visa. He had three daughters that he was (and still is) a real push over for. Made my mom sooooo mad when we did that. I really bugged my brother because he couldn't do that with dad.

Now dad has 8 granddaughters to go along with the three daughters, so he's really trapped!

Mom has said that no matter how old we get, our dad will always be a sucker for his girls.

We will be spending 4 days in Vegas before we drive to DL, so I'll hit the outlet mall there before we go. (thanks to another tip!)
