Yep. Gee, wonder why I bought a SW/Aquatica AP.

Of course, again, every other Disney resort is adding/plussing their Christmas offerings.

This just shows you the caliber of management at TDO and how little respect they have for both their guests and the Disney Legacy.

Walmarting, baby ... it's so not groovy.

That statement has haunted me the past several days not just because of the sentiment but also because of the truth of it. Kevin Yee continually discusses Decline by Degress. First they cut this then when no one really complains and the bottom line isnt really effective it gives them the confidence to do it over and over again.

I think after spending much of my adult life being a Disney theme park freak...I moved my family to FL in the 80's to work for Disney...I am ready to say no more Disney for me. That is sad in some ways. My office is full of Disney memorabilia from my career and travels, my ipod has over 100 tracks of Disney theme park music, most of our family group pictures have been taken at Disney. But I think I am finally done. Its not just the LOW of course, though it was the final thing for me because it was one of favorite Christmas things at Disney ever. It is all the little Declines by Degrees that has finally jelled for me to say "My Disney doesnt exist anymore." Any hopes that Disney will return to something like it was are gone for me. Iger continues the neutering of Imagination that Eisner started. A friend in Imagineering tells me he is concerned that he wont have a job long since Imagineering has become less a creative department and more a delivery group beholden to several other more powerful departments.

A whole bunch of you will continue to say things like "I agree, but..." and thats great. To each his own. But I wont be spending another dime at Disney. I will continue to have great memories from the NY Worlds Fair and my first Disney attractions to the years I worked for the men who worked with Walt to many, many fun times with my family. But Disney has just become another theme park for me. A chapter in my life that is done. Peace.>>

That's so sad. Just what I want to read at bedtime. I'm gonna have nightmares of Iger as Scrooge morphing like in that Christmas Carol film I'll likely see ... in a few years on DVD.

    And Kevin has nailed it.

But a certain Spirit was saying the same thing (remember Walmarting? they do at TDO ... and in Burbank and in Glendale! The power of the Spirit and the 'net) well before Mr. Yee and fam settled in metro Rednecklando.

The WDW I grew up with and fell in love with no longer largely exists.

But parts do. And I have to accept that, right now.

Still, after booking a 10-day stay for next month I have to admit what I am most looking forward to is who I am spending time with in the parks. Not the parks themselves.

Then again, in 2010 I'm planning on visiting DL, DLP, TDL, UNI-Japan, UNI-Singapore and 'possibly' HKDL (depending on work and finances) so my ever-decreasing WDW time may hit an all-time low (at least as an adult Spirit).

    Shame too.

WDW is one I can get in the car now and be at Chef Mickey's when they open.

If you are that upset SPEAK WITH YOUR WALLET. I have not attended MVMCP as a guest since 2006 and plan to keep it that way. >>

Me too ... was actually thinking about doing it ... but some sucky CM pal and two slightly less sucky CM pals all said I shouldn't waste my money, so I won't!

I do plan on hitting the beach at the Poly for Holiday Wishes though.

Want to do some drinking at Tambu? :)

<<Will I still hit Epcot this christmas- Yes but also since I get in free its not truly the same.>>

It's better if you visit with a Spirited friend who will bring his glow toy and let you play with it if you behave!
(at 3:06 a.m. that sound so bad)

<<But I do speak with my wallet with my grand total of $$ spent at WDW since June- 40 bucks. With most being one night at F & W... It used to be 100 a month.>>

You really don't want to know how much money I used to spend at WDW.

I really don't wanna know at this point because if I had it back I might be going elsewhere next month!

<<I will spend more money at DLR in one week than I have at WDW in 6 months and thats even with the discounts... Course it would be more if it wasn't the same merchandise..>>

They gots some nice stuff at DLR still ... and I spent quite a bit at the outlets there (they had three local to DL temp stores when I was there recently ... not sure whether they are still open, but worth a drive if they are).

The only one that could get away with using that word was Harry Morgan on M*A*S*H.

And The Weatherman has nothing to do with LoW being killed directly. I'd send your hatemail to Francois Leroiux as I've heard he was behind the money-saving move. (BTW, he's been a disaster since he moved from Paris to Orlando) BUT ... Iger's business model is one where quality regularly gets axed to make the bottom line look better than it should and make Wall Street happy.
