Much like the multiple princess meet & greets for WDW's Fantasyland expansion, when the big flashy announcement was met with an audible groan (no, really, there's an audible groan from the D23 audience), they quickly scrambled and came up with another idea Perhaps it could be said that the Submarine Voyage was brought back due to some sort of letter writing campaign, but it also conveniently happened shortly after Finding Nemo did incredibly well at the box office But the big things that people try to write letters about (WDW's Mr Toad, DL's Country Bears, PeopleMover, and now Billy Hill) all seem to be distant memories at best

Whether it had anything to do with this fan drive or not, unfortunately Al got his wish. Pressler was named head of Parks and Resorts and puppet Meg Whitman took his place at DLR. We all know how awful that entire time period was.

By 2009, the 50th was long gone but the film remained; it's unclear what their intentions were, but they revived Lincoln (with yet another new show, more similar to the original) to cheers of fans. And of course once it opened, it was moderately popular for a few days and then resumed its former ghosttown status
