I mean afterall, it IS a matinee.

If you want quiet, (And I know you couldn't go late that day vbdad) then go to a later show where there are very few if ANY kids at all.

We usually park my wife on one end of the row and me on the other end of the kids with my 11 year old boy two seats over from me. This way if I need to, I can be prepared to take one child out and my 11 year old fill in my spot as goal tender while I am gone.

People just need to respect other people is all it boils down to and that parent who let the kid cry or fuss or talk or whatever it was during the entire movie is being totally disrespectful of everyone else.

I actually did look into getting a jammer. Not only are they illegal, like I said, they're quite expensive. Maybe they should start building theatres underground so no signal can get through. ;-)

I have to have mine with me at all times, and I wish it weren't so. I just try to be considerate about it.

Just saw "Cars" last night. There were lots of kids there, and they were mostly reasonably well behaved, but after about the 60 or 70 minute mark, there was an awful lot of squirming going on.

No offense to any seniors reading this; I hope to be one, too, someday. But, hey, slow down! You've earned it.

My gosh! Who keeps their kids up and out in Hollywood until MIDNIGHT?

As for kids being loud in movies - happened to us when we saw Cars, too. Luckily, my DH turned around and told the poeple behind us to "shut it up or take it out of the theatre" regarding their obnoxious brat.

Amazingly, I'd say that brat was maybe 4 or 5, and the little 2 or so year old in front of us who was loud during previews got very quiet during the movie....

I actually took the time and went back and read your original post and I gotta tell ya, I don't know HOW you stayed in that movie!

You know, it's people like that, (specifically referring to the spilled drink parents) that should NOT have children at all!!!

The worst part of it is that the child will probably grow up to do the same thing, being he has such a fine example of HOW to be a father.

*sigh* Well good for you for sticking it out for the sake of your little guys.

And there would be an answer as to why parents DON'T leave.

an answer for themselves only...who is obviosuly all they think about-- the proper thought would be, will my child scream and cry uncontrollably because they are afraid of the dark and loud noises -- or will my 6 month old sit still for 2 + hours -- BEFORE they go to the theatre.

I especially loved the part where you said:

<<<while parents passed screaming kid back and forth during the show, like that somehow made a difference as to which seat they screamed from.>>>

I'll bet they are the family that has the outdoor dog that barks all night, and everyone else in the neighborhood can hear it BUT them.
