The saddest part is that I know just how much Ruthie and Rod gave up to take Virginia with them. All four of us are commando theme park enthusiasts and definitely know how to get in some serious rideage. Obviously this whole trip was planned around Virgina and the subsequent limitations. She's a nice lady but her actions didn't show a lot of respect for what the Sallys were doing for her.

Santa was still right, Ruthie is the naughty one and we all know it!

piratebrittany, thanks for the support on the JC, four chickens sounds good to me too.

I think I would have an honest and open conversation at home. It does sound like a nightmare situation. However, at her age, please do not be surprised if she does not change her ways.

I hope the trip wasn't a complete bust for you guys.

No problem Dave, it's just a matter of priorities and spending some time with you you and your family is at the top of our list. We also know you will want some private time with just your family so we'll have time for plenty of rideage.

But drunk or sober, she does not seem to understand that it is nobody's duty to take care of her. As I have stated before; she acts like she is just another friend joining us.
I do not regret taking her. I spent quite a bit of time yesterday making a tape for her of all the photos and movies we took. I do however dread telling her we cannot take her again.

One of the things that I have always believed is that you should never regret doing something nice for someone even if it does not work out. However, you do have to also know when to say enough is enough and this is clearly the time for you.
I know you will do it as nicely as possible and if she does not accept it well, there is nothing more that you can do.
Just do not feel bad because you were as patient and giving as any person should be.
    Good luck and be strong!
