Isn't the whole reason to have time off from work or school for something supposed to be so that you can celebrate or mark the event by, in the example of Veteran's Day, placing wreaths at gravesites, visiting with the VFW, or to somehow help out our elderly and ailing Veterans?

We can have our kids learn about Veterans in school on November 10th.

Wonderingalice, my heartfelt prayers go out to your Grandfather.

Both my Grandfather and my hubby's Grandfather were at Pearl Harbor. You can learn a great lot from listening to them. It is a history lesson from those that personally experienced it, and my child, has gained a lot from their experiences.

My mom has been public school teacher for 20+ years and her school (and I am sure all schools) does a great job celebrating Veteran's Day. They have people come in and speak about their experiences during the wars and help really get across the meaning about how important our veterans are.

Ok, my post doesn't even relate to Disneyland anymore.

    Hmmmm....how to tie DL in.....

Do Veterans get a discount on park tickets today? I know they get in for free at Sea World.

Yep, they can. If they've stopped selling day tickets, than APs will still be let in. But if the fire marshall says no more entry, then even APs won't be let in until they start allowing people to enter again.

I, too am speechless at people who don't realize what November 11 means....This should be a day to commemorate all veterans, past and present for the duty that called them. It's not about just having a day off of school or work, but a day to reflect on what our freedoms cost us all.....

Given how crowded the park is today, be very glad if you're blocked out.
