It's the idea of vandalizing that (previously) has had no place or reason for being at Disney. Why is it that some people are expected to withold their criticism because it might make others uncomfortable, or hurt their feelings? If you like a trashed castle, stand-up and say so ... and take the argument, if one comes. I'm taking a lot of heat on another thread becuase I dared to say there were parts of "The Incredibles" that were inappropriate, despite my overall enthusiasm for the movie. A few people are calling ME overly sensitive, but their main beef is that they think I'm looking down on THEM and THEIR tastes. They didn't resent Disney/Pixar changing the groundrules for a family 'cartoon,' but they resent my speaking-up for standards that are stricter than their own. When Walt Disney and those who worked with him spent DECADES intentionally crafting an image of innocence, respect, impeccable quality, civility and good old-fashioned hospitality, it just does not make sense to undermine that with cheap stunts. Everyone can have their own opinion, but can we please let-go of the idea that to question Disney's judgement is a personal attack against anyone who finds it amusing? It wasn't personal, until those who called the 'vandalism' inappropriate were accused of snobbishly looking down on others. THAT'S being overly sensitive. It isn't snobbish to want clean castles and clean movies. Thanks, WDW1974, for speaking your mind ... respectfully and unapologetically.

My issue was with the way it was presented. That was all. If you don't like the Grand Opening show for the Stitch attraction, I don't care that is totally 100% up to you. I only had a problem with the argument itself and the way it scared people who didn't understand WDW very well. That was really all it was and as I said before that whole thing is over with now. I said I was sorry for sounding angry when I wasn't. Besides it doesn't really matter now, the graffiti on the castle is down, the toilet paper is down, and I am even getting around to forgiving WDW (just kidding! Nothing but respect, I swear ) I guess that is all I have to say about that, sorry about the long post.

Something TDLFAN and I spoke about yesterday while sitting on a bench watching Tomorrowland in action ... many people (not just on LP.co) live to be insulted. They want to feel victimized. It's a large part of American culture today. What I find amusing is often -- not always but often -- many of the loudest whiners complaining about being abused are in fact the abusers. <<Everyone can have their own opinion, but can we please let-go of the idea that to question Disney's judgement is a personal attack against anyone who finds it amusing? I will say to get back around to Stitch that there was a 75-minute wait around 6 p.m. Sunday when TDLFAN and I left the MK. I got in line again about 11 p.m. when the wait time said 10 minutes, but got a phone call, left the queue and decided I'd rather ride things I know I'll like. So in about 35 minutes I rode Splash Mountain twice (it did look better than in June, only one major effect was out and the temp inside was better, but still not cold enough), Big Thunder once and Peter Pan once. But I doubt my opinion would change. I've already done it three times and the same things I didn't like kept on keeping on.
