"I think Obama is going to win, but I don't think it's going to be a runaway," said John Murtha, a 17-term Democrat from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. "There's no question Western Pennsylvania is a racist area," he said.>> Apparently the Democrats believe that anyone who is not going to vote for Obama is racist.

Can we PLEASE save the overdramatics, no one is saying if you dont vote for Obama means you are racist just like if you dont vote for Mccain means you're ageist, but there WILL be people who will not vote for either of these men for those very reasons. In fact, I think many people find other reasons not to vote for a candidate other than what they stand on the issues alone. That's life.

In this case, I see them as fed up and maybe smartening up - moving beyond their racism to elect the person they think will improve their lives the most.

As for what I think, I believe Murtha's comments speak for them self. Reps should not be painting the people that he represents as being racist.

Originally Posted By WorldDisney <<Just what part of "There's no question Western Pennsylvania is a racist area," did you not understand?>> Uh, I understood it just fine lol. What YOU dont seem to understand is I think someone who REPRESENTS the area, i.e. has a pulse on his constituents and community a little more than you or I would know about has a clue on what he's talking about . You dont like his statement, fine, but it's a little insulting to say the guy was saying anyone who dont vote for Obama is racist when he wasnt saying that at all. As I said the FIRST time, he's citing a historical and cultural factor in the area that cannot be ignored---and then went on to say most will still probably vote for Obama than most who would not. So, what's your beef?

I actually forgot what the ORIGINAL topic was about for a moment there and the poster was the only one not only to ignore the original post, but then completely tried to change the topic with something that didnt even relate to it and surprise, surprise, accuse the democrats of doing something wrong lol.

This idiot busted the Obama $$ and the one wAnderingalice talks about on our family site as a joke. I'm pretty sure he's now a no-show for Christmas. How he thought that would fly in my family is unbelievable. But apparently he's drank the GOP punch.
