In my heart of hearts I keep hoping that the intractability of the GOP is just for show, and things are getting done behind the scenes ... ... but in my brain of brains, I don't think that's the case. Seems to me that if he caved to every one of the GOP's most strident and idiotic demands, they'd still make up reasons to oppose "his" plan. So why bother caving to anything?
