Really, at some point, the tinfoil hats much cause skin rash and dandruff, even when worn extra snug.

Yes, the comments are a bit "out there" but they do make a good point.....

Ah, yes, that subversive issue about education being important. That Obama is a dangerous, dangerous man.

Of course, it was okay when it was Reagan or Bush Sr. though.

How is that a good point? What's wrong with ANY president speaking to school kids. You linked to the story on George H.W. Bush's speech in 1991. Yeah, the Democrats fussed over it, but he still gave a speech. How is one different from the other? I'm not asking about partisan politics either. How the heck is a president speaking to school kids bad? I don't care what aisle you're on, it's fairly innocuous stuff, and I have no problem with any president doing it. Why are we supposed to now act like our president is some communist leader? Oh, right, because that's what people are being fed.

I think it's total crap that you're saying they "have a point" when they're comparing a speech to school children to something from Cuba or North Korea... ridiculous!

It was not a voluntary assembly. The whole point, though, is that we were assembled out of respect to the president and the office he represents.

I am so freaking sick about what I'm seeing in the country today toward Obama. I never, ever saw such a virulent case of sour grapes in all my life. (Granted, the length of my political awareness isn't as long as some folks.)

And yes, DB, you and your ilk are REALLY reaching. You're reaching new lows every day.

I read Obama's remarks. He is the devil.

But seriously, I thought his comments were right now (and kids and parents both should be worried about Facebook). The only part I didn't like was, "hey kids, your GRANDchildren will be paying for my health care reform." Yeah, I thought that was a little over the top.

Darkbeer, Obama first announced that he was going to speak to school children on August 17th. He was speaking with a 12 year old reporter for Scholastic News. It wasn't until 2 weeks later that the Florida RNC leader started freaking out about indoctrination that it became an issue. Schools had plenty of time. They are also able to show recordings at later times if needed. It really does not take a massive coordination effort to show students a 10 minute speech.

What a bunch of BS. Since when can you not trust the President of the United States to talk to school children? We all know why these backwoods idiots were so opposed to the President talking to their kids, but don't dare say it.

I watched and read the speech and missed that part. I hope you are being sarcastic.
