Or the Bush folks may have felt her narration would have been innapropriate. All speculation. I don't know what kind of contract deals were made in regards to the narration. For all i know, it could have been some Disney exec that just wanted to change it. This are my somewhat uninformed guesses.

But just can't stand her voice, and prefrer the new narrators voice, even though they are delviering the same words. I like the mans voice better.

Maya Angelo, may have been a good idea, at the time since she was associated with the new president at the time. Plus the change to a female voice, after years of the same male voice, may have added a new reason to see the show, in addition to just having a the new president.

Someday, I hope that amidst all the changes to WDW attractions that I've never cared for, there will be some sane thought given to restoring Royal Dano's Lincoln speech for the close and ditching the current one. Pete Renoudet has admitted that he was purposefully trying to copy Dano's style and mimic his voice when he did the speech, and the problem with that approach is that it *sounds* like an imitation, whereas Dano was simply performing in his own natural speaking voice. And of course content wise, Dano's blows the current one away too. If Renoudet were simply delivering the old Dano speech, that would soften the blow a lot.
