Seriosly, my child has taken a strong interest in music and already has a pretty decent voice for a 4 year old. If it helps him appreciate the arts a little then I don't think that is a bad thing.

We actually went to a Wiggles show a few years back and I was surprised how entertaining it was.
I can only compare it to Disney in the way that the show is aimed at the preschool crowd but it contains many jokes aimed at the adults.
They also appear to be having a lot of fun on stage as it appears they aren't taking themselves too seriously.
However, I do understand that it is hard to get the appeal of television aimed at small children if you do not have any.
What I don't understand is what is creepy about an Australian who is of asian ethnic origin?
Is the USA and Canada not comprised of
many people of different ethnic origins???

I thought it was a general Wiggles comment.

Actually I am a parent. And yeah, my daughter was a pre-schooler during the days of Barney and many of the other shows.

And sorry, but all these 'kids' shows are a tad bit weird, are they not? How about The Doodlebops?

Good gosh -- they're like live muppets in a rock band.

Here's a picture of The Wiggles for your enjoyment.

That he is Asian is not the point -- he's just the one I notice spazzing out the most when I've watched the show.

<I find them no more creepy than The Banana Splits or HR Puff n' Stuff.>

Fair enough. H.R. Puff n' Stuff, Lidsville, The Bugaloos -- all those Sid and Marty Krofft shows were really out there.

Have to disagree on 'The Banana Splits' though -- they rocked it out. 'Danger Island' that live action serial they used to play. Awesome.

True. My favorite cartoon on that show was Squiddly Diddly.

Once upon a summertime just a dream from yesterday
A boy & his magic golden flute heard a boat from off the bay
"Come and play with me, Jimmy. Come and play with me.
And I will take you on a trip far across the sea."

But the boat belonged to a kooky old witch who had in mind the flute to snitch.
From her broom broom in the sky she watched her plans materialize.

She waved her wand. The beautiful boat was gone
The skies grew dark. The sea grew rough
And the boat sailed on and on and on and on and on
