    Exactly.

I can't wrap my mind around anyone taking Christine O'Donnell seriously for anything, especially as a publicly elected official.

It's people like her that hold this country back, and not just a little bit either, a dramatic, staggering amount.

Can you imagine her getting to vote in matters of war or health care, or gay rights?

I doubt she'll win. Unfortunately, there's a good chance that other only fringe-y Tea bag candidates will be elected and their ideas are just as counter-productive as O'Donnell's.

Nice attempt at dismissing this, but:

a). She's running for US Senate, not state Senate. You know, that body that makes decisions for the whole country.

b). As several people pointed out, she's unlikely to win, but her ignorance and views are shared by any number of people who WILL win, and if you get enough of them, it does become a problem for the country as a whole. DeMint is poised to become one of the most influential senators in Washington. He's worse than O'Donnell because he shares her views, but SEEMS less of a wackjob, plus he has seniority and knows how to wield power.

O'Donnell is but a symptom of how a highly motivated minority within what's still the minority party can set much of the agenda for the whole country.

Some members of the Republican and Democrats do belong to the "How Was I Supposed To Know She Was An Escort" party
