Kudos Republican machine...you continue to impress!

I believe the country is desparate for leadership and in the absence of leadership they will choose whatever "looks" like it. We are naive...us Americans. We aren't going to be satisfied in two years and we will tilt the other way again...which will be good for the Democrats and Obama.

Listen, I voted for far more Democrats than I did Republicans this cycle. But, you have to open your eyes up to see that the blame here can't just be placed on the right.

There's no crying in baseball. If people are too apathetic or lazy to vote, then the other side is going to use that to their advantage. Ideally, people wouldn't be jumping onto and off of bandwagons every two years: They'd develop a set of principles they believe in and vote for candidates who support that. But good or bad, Americans voters are a fickle bunch. Two years from now could be very different from last night -- each election or so seems to swing power back to the other side. What I like about last night is that there's no more hiding for the GOP. The tea baggers promised jobs, jobs, jobs. On that, I hope they succeed. I personally don't think they have clue #1 how to go about it, but I hope that I'm wrong and they're able to help boost job numbers. The days of simply being the party of "NO" are behind them. That was the easy part.

So, they could easily ride the wave and their only "strategy" might be to not get in their own way. But, knowing the political mindset I doubt they will be able to resist. If I were Obama I would be feeling relatively good about my prospects two years from now. This actually does set up well for him.

I don't think a calm, reserved approach is what tea partiers want, and some of these newbies are loose cannons. Plus Michele Bachmann is still around, so lunacy is a given.
