I always got a kick out of the fact that Canadians call the letter "z," "zed."

I used to watch a Canadian game show that was like Hangman (I looked it up, it was called Definition) and I would laugh everytime they said zed.

A Scarborough Suitcase is a 2-4 (case of 24 beer)

Heh you could also look up the following chocolate bars (not candy bar) :p

    - Aero (yummy bubbles melt in your mouth)
    - Coffee Crisp (you don't know how good they are till you try them, you'll be addicted) How do you like your coffee? I like my coffee crisp!
    - Macintosh Toffee (We got a lot of products by Rowntree via England)
    - Mr. Big. Cuz when you're this big they call you Mister.
From Wikipedia: "Mr. Big is the largest sized candy bar produced by Cadbury. The standard bar is made of a long, layered vanilla wafer, coated in caramel, peanuts and rice crisps, which is then covered in the chocolate coating. A Mr. Big bar is the length of two "standard"-sized bars end-to-end - around 20 centimetres long."
    - Mars (original name of Milky Way)
    - Caramilk (yummy but oh to sweet)

And remember Cappuccino and Irish Coffee are two common variants as is mint.

    Tortieres are also deceptively delicious

I wouldn't try to make Poutine with cottage cheese, Goofyernmost.

Just googled some recipes, and there are adapted ones out there that use pudding, but if you can find the custard powder, it's much different!

The one in my cupboard looks like this:

Veloute works best for poutine, and is very easy to make:

Heat 2 tbsp of oil (not olive, anything else will work) in a saucepan, add 2 tbsp of flour to make a roux, whisking constantly over the heat until it is 'coffee with cream' colored; add 1 cup of chicken stock (the stuff in the tetra pack from Knorr or Campbell's will do), whisking as you add the stock. If it's too thick, add a little more chicken stock. Then sprinkle liberally with white pepper and a little salt, et voila, Veloute! (that last 'e' should have an accent, but I'm too lazy, lol).

    Enjoy!

We live in Burnaby, BC; a suburb of Vancouver. (It is the first suburb to the east of Vancouver). Our population is about 200,000, and we the city is about 40 square miles. Here's the website:

    <a href="http://www.city.burnaby.bc.ca/Home.html" target="_blank">http://www.city.burnaby.bc.ca/
    Home.html</a>

I was indeed born here, in the city of Vancouver.

We haven't visited much of Canada, sadly. We keep going on Disney vacations! Victoria is very pretty, and I would vacation in Vancouver in a minute! There is sooooo much to do here, you can shop to your little heart's content; then take a half hour drive and go Whitewater Rafting on the Elaho river. There's world class skiing at Whistler, abundant hiking trails, ATV riding, snowmobiling, fishing, you name it, we've got it!

And once you've seen our beautiful city, you can hop on a cruise ship at the terminal here and head on up to Alaska. :)

    I love my city!

I will be making the poutine Tuesday morning before school starts; and will help my daughter present it that morning. Isn't it funny how, as parent, we end up doing homework still!
