Why would DCA be a bad thing? It's an official acronym for the park. It works.

But "MGM" is not a proper acronym for Disney/MGM.

And neither is "Studios," but that one at least works when speaking to guests on property.

Can you see how all of us would sound....Walt Disney World, not useing WDW
    Disneys California Adventure
    DCA
    Wilderness lodge
    WL.

I understand that we should call places what they are, but shorting them is ok, right?

Yes it makes me mad when people don't understand when you tell them that MK is not WDW, they tend to lump all the parks into MK.

No, it's not. It's an acronym that makes sense, but it is in no way official in the sense that it's endorsed by Disney. Or I should say originally it wasn't - perhaps they've lightened up by now.

Okay, maybe DCA is not a Disney official acronym. It just has become an "unofficial" official acronym by the people who go there and know the parks.

Guests (most people, anyway) think acronyms are cool.

    Question -- Is MK ok?

And for that matter, is "OK" ok? Or should it be "Okay" or "Okelly-Dokelly?"

I can't even afford to stay at any of the "economy" hotels at this point and making around 38,000 in wages in a year do not make me rich either. ...and how do you know there are NO trailer park guests staying in the Grand FL Hotel??? As a matter of fact... you don't have to be poor to be 'trailer park', as many so-called rich people happen to be just that! Look at Paris Hilton.<<

How do you propose that they keep the monied unwashed from staying on property? Make them recite some Wordsworth before being granted access?

BTW, the term "trailer trash" does imply poverty (hence they live in trailers).

You didn't get the joke, did you? That is why I said.. "it's a petpeeve of mine"...because I happen to *KNOW* all of that EPCOT name-change history as good if not better than you! Typical danyoung... always looking for ways to discredit me regardless. You are so obvious it's emabrrasing.

There was no indication of a joke, no way to tell that you didn't mean exactly what you said. Referring to it all as a pet peeve in no way tipped anyone off that you were kidding, if indeed you were.

I am in no way looking to discredit anyone at any time. If I see something I disagree with, I post it. You say a lot of things that I disagree with. So disagree back. If you need to read any other motive into it, feel free. But it's in your head, not mine.

The indication was that the statements were coming from TDLFAN. I got the joke. And I agree with him too. It's EPCOT Center for me too, regardless of how they change the name officially.

I'm surprised the green highway sign by the side of 192 (going east on the west side of property) stills says "Epcot Center."

Maybe they're just waiting it out until it comes back around again.
