There seemed to be a lot of show with very little substance. The Information Fountain was a prime example. Just a big kinetic sculpture, which is OK on its own I guess, but nothing other than that. I'm not sure that the current version is much better, though. And it was fun to look at the pics on the Walt Dated World site and remember what used to be.

The World Key booths were on the opposite wall from where you exited SSE. They had large projection screens above them highlighting various areas of EPCOT Center. When AT&T updated the Global Neighborhood the booths were moved over to Guest Relations. Guest Relations at one time was in Communicore, having then temporarily moved over to Earth Station with WorldKey during the many changes surrounding Epcot '94

I believe it was seasonal for most of the 80s before changing menus (originally it wasn't burgers and fries but more international offerings) and staying open year round. It was one of the first Disney locations to get those great fixing bars. It always was crowded when I dined there, so I never understood the intelligence of closing it. But then it went over to special events/convention services and it was clear it would never reopen after that.
