I heard that they recently reopened the inside of the statue itself, but I have no idea how to get tickets for that. The island is kind of interesting, but if I was short on time, I might miss it. The ferry stops at Ellis Island after Liberty Island, and there's a neat little museum there (and it's free!). I seem to remember that closing a little early (5-6ish), so if that's something you're interested in, make sure you head over there earlier in the day.
