I mean, who are they to tell me I'm "satisfied" when they changed their open hours without legitimate cause. I paid for a ticket on the day the park was supposed to be open til 9pm (for example), who's to say my plan wasn't to ride stuff during the day, planning on a nice leisurely dinner and some time left over for shopping? Or perhaps I expected to experience Space Mountain as many times as possible in that final 90 minutes, or whatever my plans happened to be when they suddenly, with half the day over, changed the rules. I sure would be one of those guys demanding a refund (something I WOULDN'T do if it were an obvious issue of inclement weather such that staying open appeared to be dangerous).

The winds were mild tonight, and basically no rain (maybe a bit of drizzle) in the afternoon and evening. Yes, we had some decent rain in the morning, but still less than one inch all day. This closure has been the worst of the last couple of weeks, and there was NO reason to close down early on a Saturday of a THREE Day weekend (Yes, Monday is a Holiday, and Disney has extended hours due to the fact). And to be honest, I think maybe 1 day, maybe 2 days in the last 2 weeks were truly justified for closing early if you look at the TRUE weather and things like safety. The rest were just "knee jerk" reactions where the company could save some money. And that just plain says we are "just plain cheap"!

I remember being at WDW back when Hurricane Floyd was coming to town. It was a major lock-down kind of thing for the whole state (people left town, Disney slipped notices under the hotel room doors telling people to fill their bathtubs and prepare for potential evacuation notices, etc...)... They closed the parks early, which is understandable. It was creepy, kind of like a ghost town feel. They SCHEDULED the parks to be closed the next day (and it was a logical decision given the facts) but when Floyd decided to travel North instead and spare Florida, they did manage to open up Animal Kingdom the next day complete with extra entertainment on hand from other parks. It was pretty neat, I was there. The park was surprisingly empty (I can only imagine the other hotel guests had already made alternate plans for the day by and large, those who hadn't fled Florida in the first place!), but it was nice that Disney made the extra effort there when they really didn't have to! PLUS, guests at the Poly got a free buffet and guests at the Grand got free food AND drinks over those whole 2 days (us suckers who were stuck in the All-Stars got half-price breakfast lol). Anyway, that's longwinded by my POINT is, that was a case where the company had understandable safety concerns, and YET they seemed to go out of their way to enhance the guest experience as best they could. That old "spare no expense" notion. This sounds like quite the opposite to me. "Hey customers, we're thinking there MIGHT be bad weather, so we're going to take advantage of this opportunity to kick you out early and save a few bucks!" lame.

I always felt OrlandoUniversal closed their parks early to force guests into the central resort/shops area. I guess my thoughts are irrelevant. But Darkbeer,I still hope for an answer so did they close Downtown Disney early also?

If I were to be planning a trip to DL and all the $ that that would entail, I would want to know if DTD closes earlier than usual when DL/DCA does. If there is nothing for out of town guests to do at night-there is no point for out of town guests to come during the winter. Maybe the powers that be should just shutter the place (s) until Spring.

They wouldn't save any money closing the others, and I'm not sure they COULD tell, say Rainforest Cafe or Ralph Brennan's that they had to close early, could they?
