No, it means that it takes an hour to serve the same number of people that Pirates or Indy could handle in about 10 minutes. That's the problem with the Subs - like Dumbo they are very inefficient at handling large numbers of people.

People trapped in rubble burning to death horribly when the flames swept through. 250,000 people left homeless, lives and families destroyed, and businesses ruined. But, hey, I'll buy a ticket. Unless this is going to actually be a drama type of thing, and not some cutesy film....what exactly is it?<<< Why do you assume, just because a person has previously made animated films and television programs, (all of which are of a decidedly adult sensibility, by the way), that his next film is going to be some sort of comedy or parody of a tragic event? To answer your question, "1906" is a serious live-action drama. This is what's known in the industry as "trying something else". Maybe you should consider doing the same with your posts.

My point was that you could have 200 people in line for Dumbo and 2000 in line for Indy, and both rides can be seen as successful. It turns out that jonvn was talking about something different, anyway, so it's kinda moot . . .

That said, I'll give you credit for acknowledging that it's far too simplistic, and even inapplicable, to blame DCA's problems and inadequacies on tight budgets.

Ok, then next Mel Brooks tragedy, I'm waiting for. People generally do the same things. "This is what's known in the industry as "trying something else"." This is generally known in the internet world as being pedantic and rude. "Maybe you should consider doing the same with your posts." Oh, you mean like catering to your opinions? No thanks. I'll stick to actually having my own.
Originally Posted By jonvn "in retrospect a restaurant themed to soap operas in a Disney park actually was quite clever, if not ingenious." Actually, it was a good idea. And since you can not adequately explain why it is not a good idea, then your simple and endless refrain of "how bad it is" means very little.

I now think the Soap Opera Bistro was a wonderful, superb idea. I also now consider Paradise Pier to be an impressively themed area of DCA. And I'm convinced that DCA would have been a spectacular, very popular park if the DisCo had spent just a bit more money on it.
Originally Posted By jonvn "Oh, no, you've convinced me of the error of my ways." I'm not interested in convincing you of anything. You simply say "it's bad" to anything in DCA, and have no reasoning or understanding of any of it. You just say it's bad, and that's it. So, your comments are rather meritless.

Originally Posted By disneywatcher Soap Opera Bistro was a great idea. Paradise Pier is nicely themed. Mulholland Madness is a lovely little ride. Bountiful Farms was (and is) so rustic and charming. Grizzly Rapids is so enjoyable and fast-paced I can easily see why audioanimatronics were deemed not necessary for it. The Sunshine Plaza and titanium sun are impressively designed. I think DCA is better than DisneySea.

They certainly don't come off as the musings of a wise bird, if that's what you've been shooting for.

It seems like two folks who have had serious disagreements are just going to keep rehashing history. I didn't even get a chance to say how much I loved Soap Opera Bistro (of course, a friend of mine happened to star in one of the the ABC soaps at the time, which helped, but still thought it was a cool concept that was given up on way too soon!)
Originally Posted By jonvn "It seems like two folks who have had serious disagreements are just going to keep rehashing history." One is. Because they can do little else. But I do find it amusing that because I disagree with some, and their constant refrain of DCA sucks, that I'm filled with self-loathing. Says quite a bit about them, really. When people pop up with stuff like that, it's what is really on THEIR mind, more than anything.
Originally Posted By jonvn "but still thought it was a cool concept that was given up on way too soon!) " Of course it was a cool idea. We actually went in to eat there, but the menu or prices were not something we were interested in. That they ripped it out for a kiddie show is very unfortunate.
