The difference I'm thinking of has something to do with the people onboard these various conveyances.

Originally Posted By monorailblue I think I was thinking something else, but I'm going to give it to Rivkah, because that is a very clever observation and I would say totally correct. I think what I was thinking was that the CM who accompanies you onboard all those Attractions stands (at times) while onboard--except for the Monorail. On Subs, the submarine pilot stands at all times while onboard. (They even have block stools for short CMs. Years ago, there was a minimum height to work Subs, which was one reason that subs CMs were all male. Now that isn't a problem for most CMs, who have a stool to stand on.) On the DLRR, the conductors stand throughout the ride between every station. On Streetcars, the conductor has a stool, but often stands during the ride--mostly a personal preference. The conductors uses a brass plug in the floor to ring the bell by stomping on it. And on Canoes, the forward CM stands and faces the riders at both the beginning and end of the journey. But on Monorail, the pilot sits during the entire ride.
