    And freeway overpasses don't collapse? And how do you run your precious car when the supply chain is disrupted and the gas stations are bone dry. Sheesh, I remember the gas station lines on 9/11, and there had been no local disaster.

    I agree with davewasbaloo. You opened your mouth and and removed any doubt about who and what you are.

    When the big one hits LA we'll see just how resilient our automobile/truck based infrastructure really is.

    There will be no way to ship supplies into the greater metro LA area. Store shelves will be picked clean in hours with no hope of replenishment as trucks won't be able to reach their delivery points.

    Coupled with rail problems, the transportation infrastructure is suffering in general, and it makes no sense to pit one mode over another to advocate against rail in another country. The argument is weak at best.
