I think it's normal and healthy and natural that, over time, and based on new evidence, people change their mind on things. Any thinking person has done that. Only zealots blind themselves and forbid themseleves to ever even consider fresh evidence or an opposing viewpoint on a subject. But to not explain that change of heart, or to have a change of heart when it is suspiciously politically expedient, that's a very different thing.

Most the general electorate doesn't think Bush is doing a "great job" by any means, and that's perfect fodder for the Democratic candidate, who could say that a vote for Mitt is a vote for more of the same. Of course, by then, Mitt might mutate more. (Say that five times fast). In other words, flip-flop on how "great" a job Bush is doing.
