If they make an official announcement, then I'll start ranting like a loony. The OP's link (which is down at the moment so I can't quote it exactly) only said that they were working on plans for such a land, not that it's been greenlighted or financed. Imagineering is constantly coming up with ideas that will never see the light of day. There are probably "plans" for hundreds of attractions bopping around Glendale at any given time.

Like so many other things, I'll believe it when I see it

I saw if for the first time tonight and LOVED IT. I had an offer from my cable company for a free PPV film before July 31, so I decided to see Oz so I would know what everyone was talking about. I thought it was a very enjoyable film and far prefer it to the classic "Wizard of Oz". There are enough nods to the original film to keep the relationship there but presents a very unique point of view. Plus, as I've mentioned before, I'm a nut for films using vivid coloring... I loved both "Benny and Joon" and especially "What Dreams May Come" largely becasue of that. Would I visit an "Oz, the Great and Powerful" attraction in the parks? Absolutely!

Of course it has to start from the top and trickle down.

No question they've had Oz stuff on the drawing boards for a long, long time in one form or another, and yet it's never gotten built in any of their parks. It seems particularly unlikely because from what I understand it's a pet project of Tony Baxter, and he's about to leave.

Kathy just got a big promotion at WDI and is now in charge of the DHS and Epcot Portfolios.
