Images of being in the sky are seared in my mind and are an important part of me. I have fired tank guns, big ones at big targets. I know the exhilaration of seeing the white hot splash of steel blasting through steel. I still hear my tank commander shouting “Target, cease fire! Good shooting, Jordan.†I have led 14 M1 tanks on maneuvers that lasted for days. We attacked and got attacked, over and over again. There are few sights more awesome than rail car after rail car loaded with your tanks, your part of the line, in the defense of freedom. I have hit the beach a few times in a rubber raft, decked out in combat gear, riding in on the surf, me and my A-team, then walked for miles and miles in the dark to attack at dawn. I remember the delicious fatigue I felt, and the satisfaction of a hard job that few people can do finally done, while I buckled in for the plane ride that flew us hundreds of miles home. I remember one sunset when we flew just 10 feet above the water of the Great Salt Lake, pretending to avoid targeting radars. At the far side of the lake the plane pulled sharply up and over a mountain and down just as violently on the other side. Then, for many miles we dipped in and out of mountain valleys, sometimes flying even with cars and trucks travelling on roads carved into the mountainsides. We flew and flew until the sun went all the way down and we were over our postage-stamp drop zone high in the mountains where we jumped out of the plane to cheat the odds one more time. Against this backdrop, my wife loved me, sending her soldier off to do what he had to do without complaint, while she kept the home fires burning, and the kids happy. So patient she was, as her soldier boy slowly came to realize that even though these things are tremendous experiences to be cherished forever, they are no substitute for what goes on everyday at Disneyland, the Happiest Place on Earth. First of all, my wife was never on my crew. She was never in the seat next to me. Never in the circles where we ate on the ground and talked of things done and things to come, of what it will be like to be home again. At Disneyland, she is always there with me. We explore. We cheat the odds. We eat with pirates or with a parade passing by or in ambience unsurpassed where she and I talk of things done and things to come. Slowly, my heart turned and my eyes opened to what she has always known--no matter where you go or what you have done, there is no place like Disneyland. As she pursued her passion, she found a circle of those just as passionate who have welcomed her with open arms. She referred to her “DHâ€, though I wouldn’t know I was a “DH†until much later. Yet today, I can say I have the most loving, wonderful, kindest, sweetest, generous, talented DW, and you all know exactly what I am talking about. Exactly. Like me, you knew pure love when you saw it in her. I hope that you sort of just knew that if someone like her could love me, then you would have bet good money that I was okay too. So now, with this post, I step up to the challenge of having a place in a precious community of so many loving and caring and happy people—my challenge being to laugh more while doing more good. Peaceful and loving and so funny is the good company in this laughing place, in this Laughing Place. And I am so happy to now be a small part of it. Thank you for your many warm and kind words. I hope to live up to every one of them. Tink’s Guy Aka “The Wordsmithâ€

I've read the thread about the people that don't like Disneyland, and I have to agree. If they don't like it, it's okay. It hurts sometimes, when it is a loved one or relative, but, the point was made about color preferences and stuff and that is so true.) xoxo

The most frustrating thing on earth was not having the time to hang out with each and every soul we had the good fortune to meet. We need to get some giant hamster ball, put us all in it, and then race around DL together, laughing and falling and getting to our destinations together and having great conversations along the way! The LP Habitrail of Love! xoxo

I am so glad I had the chance to be with you, even for a little while, in DL. Here's to many more DL experiences together, whether LP or at DL!!! Much love to you both!!! {{{{TinksGuy & STiL}}}} ♥♥♥
