The real test, though, will be how she comes off to moderates.

They're undecided, in my opinion, because they aren't paying particularly close attention.

I think that she's been coached within an inch of her life, and she's not allowed to reallly say what she wants to. I think that's what happened in her interviews...she just couldn't really say what she would have if she was allowed to speak her mind. Now, I think that will be a problem at the debates. She will probably do well enough, but if anything is out of what's been fed to her, there might be trouble. So I guess I'm saying that her skill might be there, but the McCain campaign has squashed her real sense of self and given her a labotomy or something so she won't go off-message.

Regardless of what position I hold, dabob2 gets my point right in #17. Does anyone know who is "playing" Biden in her debate prep? I heard her today doing a little trash talkin'. She's ready (or she's gonna pretend rrreal good) and she's gonna go "down home" with it - totally folksy and droppin' lots of "g's." Theme? They're "old" and "elitist," we're mavericks, we're change, we're just like you. Good move, imho. And yes, I realize that calling Biden "old" makes zero sense considering McCain is her partner, but she did it today and she's gonna do it again. She'll do it over and over because they've been able to convince folks that "old" for McCain means "experience" but "old" for Biden means "part of the establishment/anti-Maverick."

Her folksy approach has run its course. She needs to start showing she's got some very real substance to her, or she's going to be a trivia question in a year.
